Feel it in ten minutes

Pore breathing is energy meditation: instead of focusing on the breath or a mantra, you learn to feel (and focus on) your own life force. In the next ten minutes, your hands will show you what that means.

Before you're asked to believe anything, you're offered something to feel. You don't need any background in meditation or energy work. You only need a few undisturbed minutes and permission to trust what you actually feel, not what you think you should feel.

Everything here is free, a guided practice you can do right now, and a live 30-minute class every Sunday. Nothing to buy, and no sign-up needed to begin.

Grounding before expansion

This practice is gentle, gradual, and self-paced. Move slowly, stay within your comfort, and let sensation (not intensity) guide you. If you have a history of significant trauma or a medical or neurological condition, consult a qualified professional before beginning any breath or energy practice. You are always responsible for your own well-being.

The energy ball

Up to now you've been reading about energy. In the next few minutes, you'll feel it. To become sensitive, you need a focal point outside the body, between the hands, where the senses come alive.

The orb breathes along to pace you while you settle; then read each step, bring it into your hands, and move to the next when you're ready. A spoken, voice-guided version is coming soon.

BREATHE ALONG
A person seated upright in a chair, feet flat on the floor, hands cupping a glowing energy ball at the belly
Inhale life force energy through the pores of your skin
Exhale life force energy through the palms of your hands, compressing life force energy into the energy ball
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
≈ 6 minutes
Ready when you are
Find a few undisturbed minutes and sit somewhere you can raise your hands comfortably. About six minutes, start to finish. Read each step, feel it, and move to the next when you're ready.

What just happened?

If you felt the ball respond when your hands moved (the thickness changing with the distance) that was not imagination. Imagination does not respond to the position of your hands. You have just practiced energy meditation for the first time: attention resting on felt life force. Most people spend years meditating without ever knowing whether anything was happening. You just knew.

And what you felt between your hands is the first perspective of a meditation that deepens in stages: first the ball, then the field of your whole body, then (far down the path) being the field itself. You just took the first step.

And if you felt nothing yet, that is also normal. Sensitivity is a trained capacity, not a talent. Some nervous systems need a few sessions before the signal rises above the noise. Come back to the practice as often as you like, and the free live class below is the fastest way in: real-time pacing does what written instructions can't.

WHAT TO EXPECT

What the first sitting commonly feels like

Faint is normal, and honesty matters more than intensity. These are the sensations first-time practitioners report most often.

01

Warmth gathering in the palms.

02

A faint pressure or thickness between the hands.

03

A subtle elasticity when the hands move closer or further apart.

04

A quiet settling of the nervous system.
