ACCESSIBILITY

Accessibility statement

A practice about paying attention to your own body should be usable by every body. Here is where we stand, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when something blocks you.

OUR COMMITMENT

We are working to make porebreathing.com conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We build and test against that standard rather than installing an accessibility overlay widget, because overlays do not produce conformance and often get in the way of the assistive technology people already use well.

What we have built in

Every page starts with a skip link to the main content and uses proper landmarks and heading order. Interactive elements (including the points on the energy-anatomy figure) are real buttons that work with a keyboard, carry descriptive names, and show a visible focus ring. Selections are announced to screen readers and never signalled by colour or brightness alone. Form fields have programmatically associated labels. Images that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text; purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.

If your device or browser is set to reduce motion, the site respects it: the drifting particles, breathing glows, and animated illustrations stop, and the content beneath them stays fully readable.

Known limitations

We would rather name these than let you discover them.

Video captions. Captions and transcripts are produced as part of course production. Any video published without them is a gap we are actively closing, ask us and we will send you a transcript.

Third-party components. Checkout is handled by an outside service whose accessibility we do not fully control. If it blocks you, contact us and we will complete the purchase with you directly.

The practice itself. Pore breathing is taught through sensation, not sight, and can be practised seated, lying down, or supported. Where instructions assume a posture you cannot take, write to us and we will help you adapt it.

How we test

Before release we run an automated audit and then check by hand: keyboard-only navigation through every page, and a screen reader pass through the interactive sections, which are the most complex parts of the site. We keep a record of what we found and what we changed.

Tell us about a barrier

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to hear about it, a short note about the page and what happened is enough. We aim to reply within five business days and will give you the content another way while we fix the underlying problem.

This statement applies to porebreathing.com. It is reviewed whenever the site changes substantially, and at least once a year.
