Pore Breathing

Stop guessing. Start feeling.

Meditation, Breathwork, and Energywork for Everyone Who Ever Wondered If It Was Working

Learn how to breathe energy into your body, balance into your emotions, clarity into your mind, and light into your spirit.

THE PROBLEM IT SOLVES

“I sat for twenty minutes and I don’t know if I meditated or if I just sat there.”

If you have ever practiced meditation, you have had that thought. It is the most common experience in modern meditation, and the least discussed. You follow the instructions. And at the end you cannot say whether something happened or nothing did. Most people eventually stop, not because meditation failed them, but because they had no way to tell whether it was working.

Pore Breathing teaches a form of meditation that solves this at the root: an energy meditation, where attention rests not on the breath or a mantra but on the life force in and around your own body, felt directly, as sensation, from your first sessions. Because you can feel it, you always know the practice is working.

CHAPTER ONE · THE FEEDBACK PROBLEM

Somewhere in the world right now, someone is finishing a meditation session with a familiar, deflating thought: I sat for twenty minutes, and I do not know if I meditated or if I just sat there.

If you have ever practiced meditation, you have likely had that thought. It is the most common experience in modern meditation, and the least discussed. You follow the instructions. You watch the breath, or repeat the mantra, or observe your thoughts as they pass. And at the end of the session you cannot say with any confidence whether something happened or nothing did.

Weeks of this become months. Eventually most people quietly stop, not because meditation failed them, but because they had no way to tell whether it was working.

CHAPTER ONE · THE FEEDBACK PROBLEM

This book teaches a form of meditation that solves that problem at the root. It is called pore breathing, and it differs from other meditation in one fundamental way: instead of focusing on the breath, a mantra, or an image, it focuses on energy, the life force in and around your own body, perceived directly as sensation. Warmth. Pressure. Density. Movement.

You will feel it within your first few sessions, and because you can feel it, you will always know whether the practice is working. Sensation is the feedback that ordinary meditation lacks.

In the family of meditation practices, breath meditation, mantra meditation, walking meditation, pore breathing is an energy meditation. And to focus, in this practice, does not mean to strain. It means resting attention, placing your awareness on the felt life force and letting it stay.

CHAPTER ONE · THE LARGEST SENSE ORGAN

Imagine that every square inch of your skin is alive in a way you have not yet noticed. Not metaphorically alive, literally alive, breathing, exchanging energy with the world around you in every moment, whether you are aware of it or not.

The skin you have lived inside for your entire life is not the boundary you have believed it to be. It is the body's largest sense organ, the meeting point between your inner system and the field of life force that surrounds you everywhere.

Most people go their whole lives without noticing this. The practice that follows is the simple, patient training that lets you feel it directly.

5
CHAPTER ONE · WHAT THE PRACTICE IS

Pore breathing is an energy meditation practice that combines breathwork and energy work. It trains the ability to sense, absorb, refine, and regulate life force energy directly through the surface of the skin. Rather than relying solely on the lungs or on mental focus, this practice engages the entire body as a living, receptive system.

At its core, pore breathing is simple. It teaches you how to feel energy as sensation, how to allow it to enter and move through the body naturally, and how to stabilize it so that it supports vitality, emotional balance, and mental clarity.

Over time, this direct engagement awakens the human energy system, often referred to as the biofield, through lived experience rather than theory or belief.

CHAPTER ONE · EXERCISE
TRY THIS RIGHT NOW

Before reading further, put the book down for ninety seconds and feel what this book is about.

Sit comfortably. Rub your palms together briskly for five seconds. Now hold them apart, facing each other, about six inches. Relax your shoulders. Breathe normally. Bring your attention to the space between your palms, not to your hands, to the space between them.

7
CHAPTER ONE · EXERCISE
TRY THIS RIGHT NOW · CONTINUED

Stay there for a minute. Notice whatever is present. Warmth. A faint pressure. A subtle thickness, as if the air between your palms is slightly denser than it should be.

Now, very slowly, move your palms an inch closer, then an inch further apart. Notice how the feeling changes as the distance changes.

8
CHAPTER ONE · WHAT YOU JUST FELT

Whatever you just felt, however faint, was not imagination. Imagination does not respond to the position of your hands.

That felt quality is the first flicker of the perception this entire book trains. Everything that follows is the patient development of what you just touched.

If you felt nothing yet, that is also normal. Some nervous systems need a few sessions before the signal rises above the noise. The training in Part Two is designed for exactly that.

9
CHAPTER TWO · A SECOND PRACTICE
…AND FROM DEEPER IN
Try This: Breathing In What You Need

You have already felt the space between your hands. Now feel what the whole body can do with one quality, in about two minutes.

Choose one word, a quality you could use more of today. Calm. Strength. Ease. Keep it simple, and keep it present tense: not something you are waiting for, but something entering you now.

41
CHAPTER TWO · A SECOND PRACTICE

Sit comfortably. Feel your feet on the floor, your weight on the seat. Take one ordinary breath.

Now let the breath stop belonging to the lungs alone. On each inhale, let the whole surface of your body drink the breath in, the way a dry sponge takes water, and let the quality you chose ride in with it, entering everywhere at once. Calm, arriving through every inch of skin.

42
CHAPTER TWO · A SECOND PRACTICE

On each exhale, nothing valuable leaves. Let only what you do not need drain out through the pores, the tension, the noise, the opposite of the quality you chose.

Nine slow breaths like this. In: the whole skin drinks, and the quality enters. Out: the opposite drains away.

43
CHAPTER TWO · A SECOND PRACTICE

Then sit for a moment and notice. Most people feel a shift after nine breaths, subtle, but real. The body a little more settled. The quality a little more present than it was two minutes ago.

What you just did is the seed of one of this practice's deeper methods: later in this book it grows into a complete discipline of intention, imprinting, and release.

For now, it is simply proof of the chapter you have just read, the practices you already know work better when energy carries them.
